Division-B This is one of Hamanishi's older prints, no longer available. Here he uses geometric shapes in a subtle combination of natural and man-made objects. These are subtly detailed against the wonderful, deep , soft black of the mezzotint's background.
Dim No. 3 A clean, sophisticated composition of lacquered black and mat green/black abstract shapes. Beautiful in its understated subtlety and absolutely pristing and masterful in execution.
Colors are softer and more muted in the original - this print is difficult to photograph
Annunciation Angel Gabriel inclines towards Mary, rasing a long finger; Mary, having dropped her book, looks up piously; the dove is poised between them. All aspects of the iconography, descriptive detail and composition are outstanding in this Print. Note, for instance , the delicate touch of the Angel's and Mary's fingers, the beautiful contrasts of black and white with highlights of color, throughout.
New Town A rare and unusual subject of city houses on a hillside, patterns of roofs and windows, interspersed by trees in rythmic composition. Amazing, very fine detail where every house appears slightly different to the next, this etching is a marvel of carefully worked out detail.
