His figure is erect, compact, almost symmetrical. His gaze is firm and clear, yet his childlike hands and spread fingers touching the rope, appear to convey a note of vulnarability to the strength and confidence otherwise evoked.

In an oval, egg-like form, a man in profile relates to the bird; both by means of simplified shape and lines of beard and feathers. In the distance a row of mountains again relates Azechi's image to nature, of all the creatures, man is but one.
