Paul Jacoulet
Image Title Price
Le Phare de Mikomoto(in french)
The Inn at Shimoda was a favorite of Jacoulet's. In this ralistic portrait a guest, kimono clad, sits before an untouched meal of sashimi, laquer rice bowl and sake. He is alone, and appears pensive and preoccupied; his quiet pose contrasts with the dramatic background of sea and clouds, pierced by brilliant rays of the famous lighthouse Both the composition and the use of linear patterns enhance this arresting portrait of psychological profundity.

A scarce Print, rarely offered for sale.

Miles, #134
