In this large, finely detailed print, Christ is greeted by well- wishers below, as they raise their hands in greeting. Above, however, crowded to the right, three men with unhappy faces emerge from a building. Christ is serious, his eyes wide and aware, as if conscious of what is to come. In contrast, the donkey bends his head to munch a piece of foliage, leading our eye towards the lovely figure of a woman, about to spread a garment under his feet.
